Sofar (IOM)
From 2011 the Tri-Services Association will have its very own One Meter design where the skipper can download the plans and construct there own yachts. ‘SOFAR’ has been designed so that the shape and the construction is kept simple. In 2011, ‘SOFAR’ featured in the UK and US (IOM) National Championships, where the boat competed against the A-Fleet skippers on numerous occasions. Also the boat featured in the Tri-Services Championship, finishing in 2nd place. SOFAR’s performance is consistant across the wind speed range and provides a welcome, inexpensive alternative to competitive IOM yachts.
